The Art of Handstand

Learning to balance on your hands is an art form: it requires sensitivity, strength, body awareness and just the right amount of disciplined focus balanced with a playful attitude. In this workshop, you will learn tips, tricks and techniques that will help you find and hold your handstand. We will use props, practice fun drills, and look at how your anatomy can impact your journey to balancing on your hands.

This workshop is a must for anyone who wants to learn how to do a handstand and/or refine their technique.

Radiant Expression- Intelligent and Profound Backbending

Heart opening, fun, intelligent and invigorating! This workshop will explore several back bending asanas with optimal form and safety in mind. Initially, we will dissect the anatomy of back bending and the different muscle systems involved (like the psoas system) and how they can help or hinder our back bends. We will then briefly discuss the philosophy behind the power of back bending before practicing an intelligent sequence that will guide us towards 'deeper' backbends.

Expect to learn and play with new backbends, understand different alignment philosophies, and ultimately ‘deepen’ your backbend while keeping your body and spine safe.

This 2.5 hour workshop is all about having fun and breaking down different inversions like headstand, handstand and forearm stand and their different (sometimes, funky) variations. We will explore different ways to enter inversions, optimal and safe alignment, strengthening exercises, and good form.
